The wait is over as IPL 2021 is announced after a few months of IPL 2020. It has been in the news for various reasons. Many big names opt out from the game that include Dale Steyn who announced not playing in the IPL by commenting that IPL is more focused on money than the cricket. Here, we answer a few most asked questions about IPL 2021. Get your facts straight about the cricket.
IPL Auction 2021 is completed and there are many significant changes in the squad. Internet memers have jokes about selling people at auctions but who cares. It is pretty legal this way where eight teams engaged in a day-long tussle to fill their squads, picking from a list of 292 players shortlisted on the basis of their recent performances. Here’s the complete list of sold players.
In case you missed out on the auction, we assure that you get the full details in minutes we prepared regarding IPL auctions. These 292 players came from 11 different countries out of which 164 are from India. Once the IPL retentions released last month, everyone was shocked about star players like Glenn Maxwell and Chris Morris. Also, a few players were traded in and out during the trading window.
It was a ‘mini auction’ by definition, as teams furiously outbid each other to claim their player of choice. At the end, it was South Africa’s Chris Morris who broke the box office, registering a bumper sum of INR 16.25 crore, the most any team has spent on a player in the history of the IPL auction.
There were plenty of other buys:

IPL 2021 Venue
The IPL 2021 Venue has not been finalized by the BCCI officially yet. However, members from the board have openly said that the first priority to conduct the IPL will always be in India. Notably, the 2020 edition of the tournament had to be shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) because of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. There were assumptions that the IPL 2021 venue can be UAE once again.
However, BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal had rubbished all such claims and stated that the BCCI’s has no plan to stage the tournament in UAE. In fact, Sourav Ganguly has also confirmed that the IPL 2021 venue will remain to be in India. With the IPL 2021 auction set to light the cricketing world with loads of cash once again, the IPL 2021 auction is expected to be none short of a blockbuster. Now, the eyes are all set on the IPL 2021 auction as to who bags the highest deal and which big player doesn’t even get the base price bid in the IPL 2021 auction.
